Vico
About
Vico is a single-family house in Vicente López, Buenos Aires, whose interior design is by DOONT Studio. Completed in 2020, the 350 m² (3,767 sq ft) scheme runs on a deliberately short palette — kiri and petiribí wood, travertine and granitic floors, black details — in a spare line the studio describes as somewhat Nordic.
MORE
The interior is built on repetition: a few materials and colors, used everywhere, so the dense green around the house becomes the only variable. Ochres in wood and stone, gray in the travertine and concrete, black in the ironwork, the PVC frames and the lacquered kitchen — the same chord playing room after room.

Wood does more than warm. Several rooms are lined in waxed petiribí, which carries the acoustics of the cinema and playroom; the kitchen ceiling is kiri, crossed end to end by a solid kiri pendant light designed by the studio as one continuous gesture; and in the main bedroom the kiri is stained like ebony, forming a full-wall headboard against travertine floors and a leather Barcelona chair. The five-meter island in Silverwhite granite starts as a breakfast bar and ends as a bar, facing a black-lacquered kitchen with its wine shelving in wood.
Two rooms carry the house's spirit at its clearest. The playroom, wrapped in petiribí, holds the projection screen, a toy library, and the circular window — the studio's signature — furnished with a cushion as a reading nest against the stone of the patio. And the quincho, a room in its own right: rattan lamps and armchairs, a lapacho table, an island in Neolith and stainless steel, all on unmarkable porphyry — furniture chosen to be sat on in a wet swimsuit.
Nothing in the interior asks for attention; the calm is the design.
